Sustainability

Sustainability:

a term that encompasses community, people, the environment and our customers.

Sustainability

At SkyBlue we are firmly committed to a sustainable future for our employees, associates, clients and the world in which we live.

It’s a core value in the way we work and the service we provide.

Looking after our people; making sure they are happy, that they have enough training opportunities to enable them to progress their careers’, is something we are dedicated to.

Likewise, ensuring that our customers are happy with the service we provide, that the associates we find for them are of the highest quality and that we monitor our levels of service, all contribute to our sustainability efforts as a company.

SkyBlue regularly works with local communities to help rebuild or renovate local parks, schools and landscape areas. Through this work we have forged great relationships with many local charities and communities.

We are currently working with a primary school near Long Eaton in Derbyshire. In June, two of our Solutions branches, Birmingham and Nottingham, are working together to clear a piece of unused land on the school grounds, to enable the school to build an adventure playground for the children.

In addition, this year during our ‘sustainability week’ each SkyBlue branch will be raising money for Oxfam by wearing green and each donating £1 to enable us to buy safe drinking water and a plot of land in a third world country.

Our Southampton branch will be helping out a local charity by painting an adventure play area for the surrounding community, also in June this year.

And what about the environment?

Although SkyBlue is a service provider we do have our own carbon and environmental footprint, therefore we make every effort to reduce this through innovative ways and measures.

An example of which is introducing vehicle tracking systems into our company fleet, ensuring the vehicles are utilising the time available and therefore reducing the time left idle and  increasing carbon emissions.

We also carry out a large amount of internal meetings through video and telephone conferencing, ultimately reducing the number of business miles we do.

The list of our efforts to become a truly sustainable business is endless, as is the task itself!

If you would like to find out more about what’s on that list please call us 0845 111 4334 or email one of the team at ask@skybluesolutions.com.
